Ana parle too many langues!!
My head has been spinning this week...I am reading a book in French and trying to speak French as much as possible because I may need to write a research proposal in French very soon. I spent 3 hours today in my Arabic (MSA/fus-ha) class. Friday I was hanging out with my Moroccan friends and trying to learn Moroccan Darija (another form of Arabic). Add that to my normal "ENGLISH" and you have one very confused head. It is funny how language can alter your entire thought process. Even as I am writing this I am thinking in multiple languages...c'est presque impossible d'ecrire sans changer la langue. Learning and speaking multiple languages is a great thing..but all at the same time....difficult..i mean difficile...i mean sa3b..i mean s'eib.

Mamacita,
I know what you mean!! I am trying to write my resume in Spanish and I swear it is very difficult for me. Whenever I am translating something, the first word that come to my mind is in english, then italian and lastly spanish. It is a shame since my mother tongue is spanish. I am so confused.
Good luck with all your language classes

Hi Suzanne,
My parents insisted on speaking different languages to me - my mom in Russian, dad in Estonian. As result, I started speaking later than other kids and in my own language.
Example: milk in Russian is 'moloko', in Estonian 'piim', in my language 'pimako'

Thanks Leo and Kristina for letting me know that I am not the only crazy one who can't think straight in any one language :) It is funny though how your brain can't distinguish between them at a certain point. I always wondered if you grew up speaking all three if you would get them confused too (since I was 13 when I started French and 26 when I started Arabic). But Kristina, pimako is a great example of the kind of strange things my brain has been doing this month :)
